Hi Everyone,
So I am back from my vacation in Las Vegas. A bit of mixed emotions. We left for Vegas on Monday, only to get there and find out what happened right here at the Boston Marathon. For those of you who don't know me, I grew up 15 minutes north of Boston. This was awful, how anyone could do this is beyond me. It made me sad to think that a great tradition like the Boston Marathon where runners come from all over the world come to participate will now be tainted with this awful happening. I kept thinking what a terrible world we live in.
Then I started to hear amazing stories of courage, empathy, self sacrifice by ordinary citizens helping one another. I heard it on the news, on facebook and blogs. The compassion was felt all over the world. I started to realize that this world is really not so bad, that the majority of people are caring, kind and considerate. That unfortunately, there are lunatics in the world and there always will be. But what is more important is how we as a whole react to these situations, and I must say that after hearing all these stories I want to celebrate the good in mankind. Not just here in Boston but everywhere around the world, because I know that all of us would do what we could to help anyone in need.
There has been some awful, awful happenings here in the USA the past few months, but the way people come together afterwards, helps us all heal and we know that we will not tolerate this behavior.
So in honor of all of those injured and killed (my prayers are with you), and all of those who helped in anyway they could, along with the law enforcements and emergency responders, I celebrate your courage and your selfless acts of kindness.
This is my card:
This sweet little girl is from Mo's Digital Pencil. I colored her with copics. Of course I used the American red, white and blues to keep it patriotic. Hope you like her. I wanted to celebrate the good in the world.
Thanks for stopping by. I am happy to be home again and hope you are all well and safe.
Kim
I am entering her in the following challenges:

This is a perfect card to honor those who were injured, killed, or assisting in the horrific event. We do have LOTS of wonderful and caring people in this world. Why can't everyone be like that huh? Back to your card, I think it is absolutely darling. Have a wonderful weekend.
Lovely sentiments Kim and a perfect card to match. x
I couldn't remember where in Massachusetts you were and as the news came through here I'll admit to being very thankful that you were away on holiday. I lived in London for many years and everyone went about their business regardless of who was trying to cause death and/or destruction. The stories of bravery and caring when bombs went off were amazing, with people risking their own lives to help others. Your lovely card is a fabulous salute to the good that comes out of these dreadful situations. Sending an extra-big hug today xx
So cute and beautifully designed and of course perfect for your occasion!
Thanks so much for playing at Mo's Digital Pencil!
Hugs, Anja
