Coast to Coast

Hi Everyone,
I apologize I have not been around much, it has been a crazy week. So as I had told you earlier we were going to the West Coast, Las Angeles, CA for a business conference for my husband. We left on Wed and believe it or not were back by Friday. Insane since that is a looonng flight.

We got out there only to be told that the east coast was going to get another major storm. Well we were originally planning on flying out on Sunday, which would have been after my spa day Friday and my Rodeo Drive visit on Saturday, but that unfortunately got ruined. So not to be stuck in the Airport Sunday because if the storm was coming we knew Logan would shut down, we had to fly out earlier. We had hoped to get out on Saturday but no such luck, everyone else thought the same thing, so to make my long story short we got home late Friday night!

As for that storm, well guess what, not much of it showed up, we could have stayed...isn't that always the way? I will show you a picture though in my backyard during the storm that you might find interesting:

Yes that beautiful deer was in my yard looking for food. Of course come spring will probably eat all my plants but for a winter picture I cannot complain.

So onto my card for today. I made this card for a colleague friend of my husband who got me a pass into the conference for the key note speakers which was very sweet of him.

He is a superintendent of schools and I thought this was a cute image to go along with it. The image is a digital by Kenny K downloads which I colored with copics. I used some Glossy Accents on his boots to make them look shiny. I layered this up using a paper pad I have had a while from Prima called My Little Guy. It had the right blue and yellow I was looking for along with the stars. Hope he enjoys it.

So I hope to be around tonight catching up on all my comments and seeing what everyone else has been up to since I did nothing but rest and laundry this weekend. Oh yes and then my husband bought a new car Sunday! Never a dull moment.

Thanks for stopping by and listening to my ramblings....

Kim.

Cookies

Good Morning,

Today I have a fun card I made using a digital image from the The Paper Shelter. I love this image because it made me think of my younger sister who just adores cookies hehe (that's you Kelly!). I colored this using my copics of course (my favorite coloring source).

I used some glossy accents on the letters to make them pop. I also used some Stickles on her wings. I love the background paper, looks like old wood, I like the feel it gave the card, like a old cookie jar on your grandmothers counter.

I used a pop of red and lime green, a favorite color combo of mine, to spice it up a bit. Hope you like it.

Now I am off to pack as I am leaving tomorrow for LA, sunny California! It has to be warmer than it is here, can't wait.

Thanks for stopping by.

CMC Girly Time

Good Morning,

We have a new challenge at Color Me Creative Challenge and it is Girly and Feminine, two of  my favorite things. We are sponsored by Guy Lou as you will see by all the DT's images we used. You have a great chance to win a prize from Guy Lou as well as, an opportunity to win the monthly prize from Oozak.

So you can use any image you like but you must color it using alcohol markers or colored pencils. Let's see what you can do!

Here is my creation:

I went with evening girly hehe! I colored her dress C5, C3, C1 then covered it in Stickles to look glittery!
Her skin is E11, E00, E000, R20. Her hair is E99, E97, Y21.

The die behind her was cut from black sparkly paper using a Die-namics die. The leafy flourish is from Cheery Lynn Designs. Added some lace, flowers and pearls and we are good to go. Her drink I made into a Cosmo because I love those haha!

I hope you will join us in this challenge. For even more inspiration please go check out the CMC facebook page. There you can add your cards, see what others are doing and a chance to win great prizes when we reach 500 friends. So stop on by and say hello!

Thanks so much and have a great day!

Stars and Stripes

Good Morning,

Well I am happy to say that life is back to normal around here after the crazy blizzard. Expecting a little bit more today but I can live with that. Heading out to LA, sunny California on Wednesday so that will be nice.

Today at Sweet Stampin' we have a new challenge, Stars and Stripes. One of our team members is in Texas, land of stars and stripes hehe!

We have two sponsors as usual, we have our monthly sponsor

We also have our sponsor for this challenge, who also donated the images we used

And here is my card

Adorable image I thought. I colored here with copics. used some Stickles on her heart balloon. The sentiment is from Inkadinkadoo. The fence is a die from Marianne Creatables. I added some pearls. The paper behind the fence has stripes but not sure you can see that. The lovely die cut behind my flower was given to me by my teamie Gail who was so generous!

So I hope you will break out your stars and stripes too and join us for this challenge, I would love to see what you create.
Thanks for stopping by.

Still Shoveling

Good Afternoon,
So yes we are still shoveling out after the blizzard. I must say that town has done an amazing job keep up with the storm. Considering it took me over an hour to clean off my car. There was 30 inches of snow on the roof, can you imagine that?

But bless my husband for taking care of everything, snowblowing, shoveling, sanding, etc. It is a lot of work with this much snow and we have a rather large driveway. So today I will share with you the card I made him for Valentines Day.

How naughty is she! lol! The image is a Kenny K image that I colored with copics. I love the lace and ribbon on the bottom, I just got that, it is from Bo Bunny. I think he will love it. We don't exchange much for Valentines, I mean after 28 years of marriage I don't think we need to prove our love, but I still like to acknowledge it a bit, you know what I mean?

I also want to share a photo of my dog Max, he is a 19 pound dachshund who hates the cold, rain and snow, so you can imagine what it was like trying to get him to go out. If any of you have little dogs I am sure you know what I am talking about. So I snapped this photo of him running back in after going the bathroom hahaha! Almost looks like he is flying lol!

Thanks for stopping by and indulging me with my silly pictures!

Cardmaking and Snowstorms

Good Morning Everyone,

Hope you are all well. If you have not heard, there was a major blizzard in the northeast, yes right where I live. Woke up to 2 feet of snow this morning, yes I said 2 FEET! And it is still snowing. Thought I would share a picture or two:

Yup that is snow 2 feet up my doors, my deck is covered.
That is my husband the human icicle snowblowing the driveway look how deep that snow is!
Another angle of the deck, can you see my BBQ buried in the background haha.

I had to share so you did think I was exaggerating hehe.

But now on to more interesting things, here is a cute little card I made, again using La La Land Luca. I just think he is the sweetest thing.

Of course he is colored with my copics. I used a Spellbinders postage stamp for the die behind the sentiment. Just did this for fun.

Thanks for stopping by and thanks for putting up with my snow stories!

Valentines cutie

Hi everyone,

Here we are into February all ready whoo hoo! Spring is next, and I cannot wait. Of course we have a little ways to go but positive thoughts!
So my husband asked if I could make him a few Valentine Cards for his secretaries, which of course I was excited to have a reason to make more cards hehe. I just love paper crafting, although now my sister thinks I should learn to crochet as well. She has just started and is quite good at it actually. I need to think about that, between my two jobs, card making, scrapping, and life in general not much more time especially with the invention of Pinterest hahahahaha!

Anyway enough babble, here is my card using a La La Land digital stamp. I love these cuties. Of course I colored him with Copics. The sentiment was included with the digital image too, love that.

Thanks for stopping by and have a great week!

Texture

Good Morning Friends,

Beautiful morning this morning where I am, a bit of snow on the ground (just a dusting), fireplace is on and my dog is lying in front of it. Some moments in life are truly peaceful. I am sure that will be it for the day hehe. Soon the dog will be barking, my husband will be cooking, my daughter will be chatting and life continues!

So today at Color Me Creative Challenge we have a new challenge: TEXTURE. As you may know, for these challenges you can use any image but you must color with either alcohol markers or colored pencils. These challenges are a great way to help improve your coloring technique or to just practice it.

So here is some inspiration for texture. This is one of Suzanne Dean's dogs, how cute! Very furry, but you can also use the others such as brick, wood, and any others you can think of.

Our sponsor for this challenge is :

There is also a monthly drawing from all the entries that month to win a Gift Certificate to

So finally here is my creation. I used a combination of a flicking technique and also some colorless blender on a rag to create a bit of texture.

Of course the image is an adorable Stamp Fairy image, Patches. Great image to color because you don't have to possess a lot of marker colors. I used copics:

Bear:  E59, 53, 49, 35
Heart:  R29, R24, R22

I also used some Stickles on the heart to add some sparkle.
I hope you will find the time to come join us in the challenge, I would love to see what you create!

Thanks for popping in, I hope you will leave me a comment so I know you were here.

Love is All Around

Good Morning!

Hope we are all surviving winter. The weather here has been crazy, snow, rain, wind, freezing temps and then warm temps, never know what is going to happen, haha sounds like me actually, hot, cold, and never know what is going to happen!

So at Sweet Stampin' today we have a new challenge, "Love is all Around" pretty simple, especially with Valentines! We also have two sponsors, our monthly sponsor:

And our weekly sponsor:

                                                   CUDDLY BUDDLY

So here is my creation, and I must say I am in love with it. I borrowed the idea of the box inside the card from one my lovely DT members Sarah. She was so sweet to send me a birthday card using this design and even put some delicious Jaffa cakes in there mmmm. So I copied her idea and put my own twist to it.
The stamp is a freebie from Whimsie Doodles. I colored her with my copics and put in lots of candy. Sadly though, not sure who I am going to give it to.

Miss my girls being little, they used to love Valentine's Day. Although they would probably still not mind getting some candy from me hehe.

So hope you will join us and create something LOVEly hehe!
