Coast to Coast

Hi Everyone,
I apologize I have not been around much, it has been a crazy week. So as I had told you earlier we were going to the West Coast, Las Angeles, CA for a business conference for my husband. We left on Wed and believe it or not were back by Friday. Insane since that is a looonng flight.

We got out there only to be told that the east coast was going to get another major storm. Well we were originally planning on flying out on Sunday, which would have been after my spa day Friday and my Rodeo Drive visit on Saturday, but that unfortunately got ruined. So not to be stuck in the Airport Sunday because if the storm was coming we knew Logan would shut down, we had to fly out earlier. We had hoped to get out on Saturday but no such luck, everyone else thought the same thing, so to make my long story short we got home late Friday night!

As for that storm, well guess what, not much of it showed up, we could have stayed...isn't that always the way? I will show you a picture though in my backyard during the storm that you might find interesting:

Yes that beautiful deer was in my yard looking for food. Of course come spring will probably eat all my plants but for a winter picture I cannot complain.

So onto my card for today. I made this card for a colleague friend of my husband who got me a pass into the conference for the key note speakers which was very sweet of him.

He is a superintendent of schools and I thought this was a cute image to go along with it. The image is a digital by Kenny K downloads which I colored with copics. I used some Glossy Accents on his boots to make them look shiny. I layered this up using a paper pad I have had a while from Prima called My Little Guy. It had the right blue and yellow I was looking for along with the stars. Hope he enjoys it.

So I hope to be around tonight catching up on all my comments and seeing what everyone else has been up to since I did nothing but rest and laundry this weekend. Oh yes and then my husband bought a new car Sunday! Never a dull moment.

Thanks for stopping by and listening to my ramblings....

Kim.

I am entering this card in the following challenges:

The Pink Elephant:  Anything Goes
Kenny K's Krafty Krew:  Layer it Up
Here Come the Boys:  Lots of Layers

Hi Kim. So sorry to hear that your weekend was ruined, such a shame when the weather people get everyone stirred up into a frenzy over 'non-existant' storms. We too have been waiting for snow for the last two seeks and it still hasn't shown up!!
Great blog, really enjoyed your writing style and I am positive that your husband's friend is going to love that amazing card. Your colouring (I am British so sorry, we do use the extra u in colour!!) is amazing and I wish I could get the full effect of it with the glossy accents too, some things just don't photograph well do they?
Anyhoo, thank you ever so much for joining us over at the Kenny K Kraft Krew challange this week, your card certainly fits the 'Layers' theme and that's the truth! Good Luck with the challenge and I really hope we will be seeing a lot more of your lovely work soon.
See you again soon,
Hugs 'n Stuff
