So Sweet

Good Evening,
So I promised a card post today and thus it shall be, haha, better late than never.
It is just after becoming a DT member for Sweet Stampin I became very popular and my phone
kept ringing lol!

But I did create this cute little card late today and wanted to share.

The stamp is from La-La Land Crafts, it is Sugar n' Spice Marci. Of course I colored her with Copics. The sentiment stamp is from Memory Box, called sweet cupcake. The paper is just from my scrap box and Stickles and a little bling and there you go!

I am entering her in Cute Card Thursday Challenge 201, You're a Gem
and also in Creative Inspirations Challenge 147, Anything Goes

Thanks for stopping by and special thanks to all of you who left comments, much appreciated.
Love to hear the feedback.

Exciting News

Good Morning Everyone,

I will post a card later, but this morning I could not wait to share my exciting news. I have been selected to be a new Design Team Member for Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog. How exciting is this?  I have only had my own blog about a month now and Sweet Stampin was one of the few card challenges I had entered. If you follow my blog I mentioned that they were looking for new design team members and that I was throwing my name in. Well look at me now! I never thought I would be chosen since I am not that experienced and the other team members are so talented, but I found out they are also extremely nice.  They have some great card challenges, if you have not entered one there you really should.

I also want to say Congrats to the other two new team members Doreen and Jenny. I am really excited to be working with you both.

So I hope all of you will follow my progress both here and at Sweet Stampin Challenge Blog to see how I do.
I am both nervous and excited. Please leave me your comments would love to hear what you have to say.

Thanks! And hopefully I will be able to calm myself down long enough to post a new card later lol!

Not a Card

Happy Friday Friends,
Hope everyone survived another week lol. So I was wondering how some of you get such great pictures of your projects on line. A friend suggested a lightbox for photos, I was thinking of getting one, any comments on this? Would love to hear from you if you use one and how it works for you.

Today's post is not a card. I know shock! Delightful Challenges has a challenge this week called:
Valentine's, Anything But  A Card. So here is my creation.

http://delightfulsketches.blogspot.com/

It is a wine gift bag. I just bought a plain brown paper gift bag, took out the blue ribbon handles and made it my own. I used a digital stamp from Digital Delights that was actually a freebie, called Tree of Love. How cute is that. I colored it using Copics, added some stickles for sparkle. All the paper used was actually in my scrap box of paper. I used a Martha Stewart punch for the lace border. Embossed the heart with one of my many folders and did the to and from tag with a Marvy punch and Great Impressions stamp. All it needs now is a bottle of wine or champagne perhaps.....

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you all have a great weekend. I am actually attending a card class at a local shop here on Saturday with my sister. If we stop talking long enough in class we may actually learn something hahaha, I love spending time with my sisters!

Frosty

Good morning all!
Good news this morning, my Coffee vs. Men card won the Dutch Dare Sketch Challenge. It was a random pick but so what, I won a great prize from The Stamping Boutique. I love prizes! (Who doesn't?)

Today's card is being entered in the CMC Copic Challenge 35 -Frost, Icy, Cold, Projects.

http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/group/cmccopicchallengegroup

This is a cling stamp from Art gone Wild, I bought a couple of these stamps from my favorite store here in town (Absolutely Everything) and I love them. Of course he was colored with copics in some nice cool winter colors. I used Stickles icicle on his coat and hat. I used extra fine glitter on the snow flakes and around the swirls. A couple of clear snowflakes from Heidi Swapp along with two punched snowflakes (Martha Stewart punch) topped with a rhinestone and pearl. I think he looks quite frosty!

Hope you have a chance to stop by, if you do, please leave a comment, I would love to hear from you.
I have been busy checking out everyone's blogs, there are so many and the talent is endless, I love it.
Enjoy your day! Thanks.

Song and Dance

Good Morning,
So I just finished doing laundry and grocery shopping yuck! Now I remember I only have an hour or two to enter my card in the challenge for Cute Card Thursday. They are doing a Music and Dance challenge 200.

http://cutecardthursday.blogspot.com/2012/01/challenge-200-music-dance.html

This card I made with a La-La Land Crafts stamp called Marci Ballerina, she is so cute. I stamped then masked her and then did the back ground stamp from Stampendous called Music Score colored her with Copics and added some stickles and pearls, etc. She is ready for her debut lol.

I love doing challenges because is forces me to expand my horizons a bit and try new things. That is why I keep entering them, otherwise, I fear I may fall into a rut and stick with what I know.

Hope you like her!
I am constantly trying to find new inspiration to shake it up a bit, but right now I have to finish putting away the groceries, I don't see much inspiration there haha.

Thanks for taking a peek!

What no copics?

Hello Everyone,
What a beautiful day here in New England, it is like spring. I am loving it, because I hate snow!
Ironically the card I am posting today is done with white on white. I don't want to see white on the ground any time soon.

But enough about that. My card today is being entered into two challenges (look at me like a pro lol).
Both are white on white and what a challenge that was for me. I don't think I ever did an all white card before. So I figured if you must use one color then you need a lot of texture, which is what I tried to accomplish.

The two challenges I am entering are:

Sweet Stampin White on White
http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

Souther Girls Challenge #36 White on white
http://southerngirlschallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/well-we-are-already-onto-second.html

I broke out the Cuttlebug for this one and used those embossing folders that I have a hundred of.
I rubbed stickles on to one of the embossed papers to give it some glittery shine. I used white sheer ribbon which you can probably barely see but it keeps it light and adds more shine. I used a Sizzix die for the leaves.
The rubber stamp I used is from Penny Black, called sparklers, it is one of my favorite stamps. I stamped it with Tim Holtz Distress ink bundled sage and then added some extra fine glitter to it.  Can you imagine, I did not use a single copic on here, wow. It did come out very pretty. Hope you enjoy!

Thanks for stopping by! Please come again!

Been there, done that.

Happy Monday!
Hope all of you football fans are relaxing after yesterday's close games. I am not a sports fan, though I do like the game snacks if you know what I mean. We had the game on but I spent most of it in my craft room having fun. My husband, father-in-law, daughters and daughter's boyfriend sounded like they were having fun haha.

My card today was done with a stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. As soon as I saw this stamp it reminded me of my friend's daughter at that age, she was so cute! So I had to have it of course. I love the leotard and tutu also because my daughters used to dance for many years, so I love anything with dance.

I colored her with copics and used some Smooch on her leotard. I also used some Stickles on her tutu, crown and flower. Added some rhinestones to her crown for true princess affect. I even broke out the sewing machine and stitched around the base of the card and around the stamp.

I am entering her in Mo's Digital Challenge 118, Stitching Real or Faux.

http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/2012/01/challenge-118-stitching-real-or-faux.html

Thanks for checking her out.
Thanks to everyone for their great comments, keep them coming I love it.
Everyone has been so positive and helpful.

Coffee vs. Men

Good Morning Friends,
Hope you are not getting the snow we are, although it is a good excuse to stay inside and make cards.
Which is what I plan on doing this afternoon. My husband made some turkey chili for dinner yum and I am making some corn bread to go along with it, other than that I plan on staying in my craft room.

So today's card I made using a free digi stamp (I did not even know you could get free digi stamps until this week, what a deal) from Sassy Studio Designs called Latte Lori. I got it from Paper Craft Planet.
I love this stamp because I love coffee, especially Starbucks coffee, my favorite!

I am entering this card in the Dutch Dare Card Challenge #148 Stamping Boutique Sketch

http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/

So as you can probably tell by the name I had to a follow a sketch, which is fun sometimes since you know exactly what has to be there. Of course she is colored with copics.

So tell me what you think, would love to hear from you.

On a side note, my super mom card won the Retro Hot pink, black and white challenge from color me creative. I was very excited since it was the first card I ever entered in a challenge. Yeah me lol!

Thanks for checking out my blog, off to make more cards!

Too Fun!

Hello Everyone,
Can I just tell you that I am having so much fun! Who knew a blog could be so fun? Seriously, I believe it has just given me the push I needed to try new things and spend more time card making. Of course the laundry is piling up and so is the dust but what the heck, you only go around once, the housework can wait!

So this card took me a long time to get her hair where I wanted it, I still need sooooo much practice with hair but she is still very cute.

This stamp is a Sylvia Zet Stamp from Susana's Custom Art and Card Design, it is called Hope.
I stamped her on Gina K Design pure luxury card stock. Colored her with Copics. I put some stickles on her wings, shoes and in her hair deco. I put some smooch on the flowers and added lots of bling.

I am entering her in Sweet Stampin' Challenge... All that glitters.

http://sweetstampinchallengeblog.blogspot.com/

They are also looking for a new DT member, I may just throw my name in. Not sure I am qualified but I am definitely motivated haha. We will just have to see!

Thanks for looking!

Big and Bright

Good Afternoon All!
So here I am still experimenting with digital stamps. I printed this adorable stamp out from Sassy Cheryls Digis it is from the Sassy Sally line called Let's Party. I realized after I had her half colored that I should have made her a bit smaller as she took up the entire card. But I figured I was half way there so why not make it work. (That and I was going out to lunch with my younger sister and did not want to rush it.)

I am going to enter her in Sassy Cheryl's challenge #98 Bright and Cheery to Chase Away the winter Grey.

http://sassycherylschallenge.blogspot.com/

She is colored with Copics and has some stickles on her hat and skirt. Added some rhinestones from my vast collection along with some ribbon and I believe she came out quite cute even if she is a big large. Let's say her size must match her personality!

I also realized that I need to practice making my cards a bit more fancy, I tend to stick with what I know, time to expand my creativity a bit!

Thanks for stopping by!

Big Tree

Hello Everyone,

For those of you who have the day off, I hope you enjoyed it. I came home yesterday after a relaxing, yet freezing weekend away with my husband. Today we both had the day off, so I have been making cards and practicing coloring while my husband went clamming this morning. Yes he is crazy on such a cold day, but it is a hobby for him so who am I to judge crazy when you look at my hobby hehehe!

Today I made this adorable card with a digi stamp (yes another one) from Make it Crafty, called Big Tree.
I colored it using Copics (of course). Then said what am I going to do with this huge tree? Thought oh a yellow ribbon around it is so significant. Makes such a simple statement. The print paper is from Me and My Big Ideas.

I believe I will enter this in the Dutchdare card challenge:
DDCC #147 Karen's doodles- for the boys.

http://dutchdare-cardchallenges.blogspot.com/

I believe it is appropriate for all the boys serving everywhere. May they all come home safe.

Hope you like it! Thanks for stopping by and special thanks to all of you who have posted comments, it is so exciting to find a comment on your blog, especially when first starting out like me. I now make it point to comment on the blogs I visit to let others know I appreciate their talent and the time they took to post it.

Keisha

Good Afternoon Everyone! I am happy to announce I am submitting another card into a card challenge.
This card was done using a Digital Stamp ( I knew I would become addicted to these) called Keisha.
She is darling. I got her from Mo's digital Pencil.

I am entering the Clean and Simple Challenge 117 at Mo's Digital Challenge.

http://mosdigitalchallenge.blogspot.com/

I colored her using copic markers. I am trying to learn different skin tones and colors so she was my experiment, I am happy with the way she came out.

I hope you like her and thanks for stopping by.
Now I am off for a weekend away with my charming husband!

Sister's Birthday

Hello on this beautiful Wednesday!
So today is my sister Kathi's Birthday!  I will not say how old she is just lets say she is much older than I hehe. Of course I made her a card and of course I will be mailing it late in my usual fashion. So Kathi if you see this today this is your card but it is much prettier in person. I used a digital stamp from Mo's Digital Pencil. It is called Lizzy in a Tizzy. I thought it appropriate since I am sure my sister is not thrilled to be a year older.

But seriously I hope you have many, many more birthdays! I am very lucky to have two awesome sisters and one fantastic brother with a fantastic wife. So the more birthdays we celebrate the happier I am.

Hope you like it.

Thanks for stopping by and if your birthday is today too well then Happy, Happy to you!

Super Mom

Hi Everyone,
Thank you to those who checked out my first post. A special thanks to those who signed on to follow me!

I am entering my card in the CMC Copic Challenge #34 Retro Fun- Hot pink, white and black.
Hence the colors of my card.

http://scrapbitzcopics.ning.com/group/cmccopicchallengegroup

This great stamp is a digi image from KennyKdownloads.com. This is the first time I have done a digital stamp. It was much easier to access than I thought, which could be dangerous to me since I love stamps.

I colored her once again using Copic Makers:
C9, C7, C5, C3
E11, E00, E000, R20
E31, D25, E50
RV 14, RV 13, RV 10

Tell me what you think about it. I am still learning to color these stamps and would love to hear your thoughts.
I am currently taking an online class with Suzanne J. Dean at Color me Creative Classroom.
you should check out her site, she is amazing and her classes are so informative.

Thanks for stopping by and I hope you visit again!

My First Post

Hello Everyone or should I say Anyone,
So this is my first post to my brand new blog and not sure anyone besides my family will read this lol. I decided to start a blog since I have been following a few for a while now and it seems like fun. I hope to enter a few card challenges and make a few new friends along the way.

In the meantime, I will post some cards I make to share what I like to do and get some feed back of what others think. I am still pretty new to card making, stamping, and copics but I love it all. There are always new techniques to learn and I am constantly improving on what I already know.

There are many talented bloggers out there as I have read a lot of blogs, but I figure they had to start somewhere, so here I am.

If you take time to read this post, I thank you sincerely and hope you will comment since I will be excited that someone actually read this!

So this adorable little girl is from Penny Black it is called Kisses.
I colored her using Copics
B04, B02, B00 B000
C3, C5, C7
E25, E50, E31
